Now let’s assume you did start that blog. You got it beautifully designed, well organized with high quality content. Everything looks perfect. But somehow no one is reading your wise words. Suddenly blogging is no longer this easy beautiful fulfilling journey but rather a frustrating and overwhelming one.
If the idea behind your blog is mere passion, then a smaller or bigger amount of traffic won’t matter, but if your one of your goals is make money from your blog then you will have to actually dedicate a lot of time to drive traffic to your blog.
People think that a blogger’s work end when they finish creating their content, but the reality has nothing to do with that. If you really want your blog to get the visibility it deserves you need to put into driving traffic the same amount of time, work and dedication that you put into content creating. In other words, there’s no quick or easy way to do it. And as far as I am concerned, you shouldn’t be asking for easy. Let’s be honest easy things are not enjoyable nor exciting, if it’s easy then everybody is going to do it, and no one is actually going to quit working on his blog.
The reason why new bloggers quit blogging:
Most people quit their blogs because they can’t drive visitors, which means that they can’t monetize their blogs through advertising (the easiest way to monetize your blog).
This frustration is one of the most common reasons why people stop blogging. And I don’t want that to happen to you. I truly believe that everyone who is passionate enough is able to give so much value to the blogging world. we need better article, relevant content. And that’s why we need you and your contribution to the blogging world.
Here I am going to break into small sections the best ways to increase your blog traffic, so let’s get started!
Writing on Quora:
If you don’t know what Quora is, it’s basically the number one platform for Q&A questions and answers. On a daily basis, millions of visitors engage in this platform sharing their answers or even questions on different range of topics. No matter what your niche is about, you will always find related questions to your niche and that’s why engaging in Quora can drive a lot of quality traffic to your blog. Make sure you don’t spam or violate any of Quora’s rules, and that you add value by answering the question on the platform before redirecting the reader to your blog for further insight.
WAYS TO USE QUORA TO INCREASE YOUR DAILY TRAFFIC IN 30 DAYS:
Start by writing answers every single day (1 answer minimum) and link back to your website at the end of your answer.
Comment on others posts that are relevant to the topics of your niche, and connect with people who are active on Quora (Those people can quickly turn to your most devoted readers, which means consistent daily traffic).
Join Facebook groups:
With over one billion active users, Facebook is the number 1 social media platform. If you are not promoting your blog on Facebook, then you are seriously missing out on a lot of traffic.
The new trend for bloggers is to join Facebook groups, it is a great way to connect and collaborate with bloggers, supporting each other and also promoting your blogposts for traffic (make sure to see if it’s allowed to promote your content in the groups you’ve joined).
Update your content:
Here we are talking about old content. Old content shouldn’t be neglected, I mean back in the days, it was great and people really enjoyed it and it actually drove a lot of traffic so why waste it? When you are running of ideas on what to write about the best thing to do is to freshen up old content and update it. In this modern era, the world is evolving in a crazy rate, the information, tricks or ways you teach people today, can easily stop functioning tomorrow. I mean it’s not your fault if the world is quickly changing, but it is your fault if you don’t adapt to this changes and don’t update your content.
To do that focus on your top 10 high traffic generating posts and pages, you can find them on Google Analytics.
The update can go from finding more relevant keywords, to working on headings and subheadings, add more text and more value to the article.
I can’t stress that enough. Blogging is all about WRITING, WORDS, PHRASES and all of that stuff. How are you excepting to gain readers if you don’t write enough and consistently? I’ve always said that the key to mastering blogging is CONSISTENCY and I will never stop saying that. Fresh content is so appreciated by search engines, so give them a reason to appreciate you, and WRITE more.
A lot of research show that the more often you update your blog, the more traffic it will receive, and Google is on top of that game since it gives website with fresh content a high priority in the search engine. What I suggest you if you are doing blogging full time then you should be working on it on a daily basis, and uploading a blogpost per day, but if you are like me, blogging as a side hustle then you will have to freshen up your content at least twice a week. It can be easily done with the right mindset + planning.
Focus on low competition keywords:
If you want to get free organic quality traffic from search engines, then you will probably need to do some research to find low competition keywords. Identifying low competition keywords is essential, because it’s a lot easier to rank for low competition keyword than competitive one.
All you have to do after finding those keywords is to create quality content, and get some backlinks to see your traffic grow.
Finally, relax & breathe.
You won’t get 20 000 page views overnight, you need to stay focused and dedicated while implementing those strategies. And remember than blogging is a process, and every process takes time.
Mine might be longer than yours. And that’s completely okey, make sure you trust the process even when you don’t understand it. And this your daily reminder to keep on loving and enjoying it.
